Molly Vickers School of Dance was established in 1967 and is the longest running dance school in Stevenage. Stacey and Lisa took over as the School Principles in 2017 when Molly Vickers retired after 50 years of teaching.
Stacey and Lisa have danced at Molly Vickers since they were very young and have been teaching at the school since the early 90s! Both hold their teaching qualifications with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) and have a wealth of experience in teaching many different dance styles and ages.
At Molly Vickers School of Dance we are committed and dedicated to delivering high quality dance classes to all. Our aim is to provide enjoyable and professional dance tuition to our students taught by knowledgeable and experienced qualified teachers. Our dance classes help to build confidence, technique and structure but most of all for pupils to have FUN! We can help you begin your dance journey today.
The school produces a dance display at the Gordon Craig theatre every year with everyone in the school who so wishes taking part. The profit from each show is re-invested into the school for our pupils to benefit and sometimes we are also able to donate helping others in the community. Since the school was established we have given over £36,500 to various registered charities.
Classes are held at Bedwell Community Centre, Bedwell Crescent, Stevenage Herts, in Ballet, Tap, Freestyle and Contemporary for children (starting from 2 ½ yrs old) and adults.
We hold regular exam sessions for those who want to take exams, to progress their ability, be recognised and awarded by the IDTA and also progress and support some of our senior pupils to obtain their teaching qualification, for those who wish to pursue dance as their career.
The IDTA is a member of the British Dance Council Sport and Recreation Alliance and the Theatre Dance Council for Dance Education and Training International. The IDTA and the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) have embarked on a process of working together to the mutual benefit of their members in both teacher education and training.
