The Stevenage Battlegroup wargames club meets weekly on Wednesday evening 7pm-10.30pm.

We play a wide selection of games, they include historical wargaming, role-playing and fantasy wargaming. We run games set in a variety of historical periods from the Bronze Age to the present day, and also include science fiction and sword and sorcery genres.

Most games involve the use of model figures to create a feeling for the layout of a battle, and the use of a set of rules appropriate to the period and scale of conflict being represented, so we use a wide variety of rule sets. The aim is to achieve a realistic simulation of movement and combat - and of course to have fun!

We are interested in history as well as gaming and so sometimes fight battles with a historical basis. So - if you would like to see if you are a budding Napoleon, or would like to get some feeling for the role of a humble grunt - why not come along and give it a try?
